Question: Why do you think Jacob only knew it was Leah and not Rachel just the following day in the morning, yet he spent a night with her? (Genesis 29:23-25)
Laban tricked Jacob; but how is a mystery! It may have been intoxication.
However, eventually Laban was outwitted, and Rachel became the wife also of Jacob, (which produced Joseph), and his personal wealth grew quickly by his skills.
The whole incident is IMO summarised in Chp. 32:24–30, which showed that despite appearances Almighty God’s Will and purposes will not be thwarted!
The first purpose of sending Jacob to his Uncle Laban’s household, was to ensure a non-Nephilim bloodline, which produced Joseph, and preserved the Prophecy of Gen. 3:15.
That fact and Jacob’s wealth accumulation, was to be of help when Joseph was seconded to Egypt, and his children became part of the embryonic Nation of Israel!
